Final Reflection
My Story Animation Project
In this project I learned how to compose a story and apply all of the skills I have learned over the course of the semester. I learned all of the skills in the video that were taught to me by Mr.Olson, and I got a lot of help from my friends. I picked this project because I put a lot of time into it. I spent many power 50's and many hours after school to create it. I also think its one of my most appealing project that I have done. I think my greatest strength is creativity, I used had to think really hard about this though because I was struggling to come up with an idea. I think my weakness is the puppet pin tool because it took me so many tries to get it right. I understand it more thoroughly than I did before and I know how to set key frames with the puppet pin tool now. If I could change something then I would change the part where transports from area to another really fast. Overall I liked this project and it was really fun to do.
Walk Cycle
For this project what I learned was how to correctly do a walk cycle and create shadows. I learned it through a lot of help through my peer Mario Bustos, he showed me how to efficiently and effectively create a walk cycle. I picked this project because I think my bear look really cute, and it was really hard to get him to look right in photoshop. I think my biggest strength in this project is the legs move in a way that looks somewhat normal, but my weakness is he is sliding on the ground a little bit when he walks. I don't think I have improved that much but I can make the legs one somewhat realistically if that counts for anything. I applied what I learned here to my story animation above and it turned out alright. Overall this project was fun because we had to create our own character and it sparked some creativity in my mind.
Fist ever Maya project
This was the very first thing I ever did in Maya. I learned how to create shapes, color them, move the, and I learned all of the control keys that move the shapes around. I learned it though Mr. Netterville since Mr. Olson is out right now due to heart surgery and he cannot teach us right now. Mr. Netterville very throughly went through how to make shapes and what do do with them. There were also documents on google classroom that I followed along with. I picked this project because my polishing is not very good and this is the second best one behind my castle which you will read about later. I used what I learned to create and move shapes in the castle project. I would not change anything because I think it looks good. Overall this project was fun because I learned many new things.
Maya Castle
I learned in this project how to use booleans and how to duplicate things and move them. I learned it through Mr. Netterville and with a lot of trial and error and through my friend Case. I picked this project because it looks really pretty. I put out a nice shape for the door and the texture looks somewhat seamless. I couldn't get my textures to work at first and I had to enlist the help of Cats and she showed me how to add my textures. So I learned how to add textures and I applied that to my polishing project. I wouldn't change anything if I could I would add a throne. I tried to add a throne but it was too difficult so I gave up. Overall I am really proud of this castle and it looks really good.
